Post Vacancies for Lecturers in Civil Engineering and Information Technology under Colombo Plan Technical Co-operation Scheme.

Applications are invited from experienced Lecturers / Sr. Lecturers / Associate Professors who are teaching Diploma and Undergraduate courses in various Colleges and Universities under the regular service of the Government of India for the following post at Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic (JNP), Dewathang, Bhutan on deputation under the Government of India Colombo Plan Technical Cooperation Scheme.

Terms and Conditions

1. Candidates applying for the above posts must be under the regular service of the Govt. of India with at least 5 years of experience in teaching as lecturers / sr. lecturers or as Associate Professors at the similar colleges or universities.

2. The appointment will be fir initial period of two years renewable with mutual consent up to three years, depending on the performance.

3. Gross salary will range from Rs 90,000 / - to 1,30,000 / - per month depending on the existing basic pay.

4. A free and fully furnished accommodation will be provided in the campus or outside.

5. Candidates must be prepared to live in a mountain environment with basic amenities.

6. Their services will be guided by the deputation rules of the Govt. of India and the terms of reference of the Royal Govt. of Bhutan.

7. Medical facilities and leave travel concession will be provided as per deputation and Royal Civil Service Rules of the Royal Govt. of Bhutan.

8. In addition to normal teaching, the candidates should be able to :

i.  Provide expert service in curriculum design, development, and evaluation in the above field of     engineering,
ii. Guide in Extra Curricular activities,
iii. Bring improvements in the teaching and learning methodologies including assessment systems,
iv. Initiate activities to enrich academic life in the Institute.

The Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic (JNP) formerly known as the Royal Bhutan Polytechnic (RBP) is one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan. It was established 1972. The institute is situated at 800m above mean sea level overlooking the plains of Assam and is located at the west end of the Dewathang town. It is 18 km north of Samdrup Jongkhar town in Eastern Bhutan which is 50 km away from Ragia in Assam. It offers two and half years Diploma level programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Its intake level is Class XII Science. It is a co-educational institutions and its medium of instruction is in English. It has plans to introduce new Diploma in IT and Surveying from 2011.
